What is the difference between starting a war with Syria and Russia by an easily triggered buffoon and a well seasoned neo-liberal/neocon (Hillary)?
None whatsoever.
Starting a war without doing research is what amateurs do. Starting war at all is what bloodthirsty greedy politicians do.
We need a third-party in America that represents peace, not war.
In the Trump rally’s leading up to the election, Trump magnetized his supporters with these words. Many voted for him based on these sentiments:
“We will pursue a new foreign-policy that finally learns from the mistakes of the past. We will stop looking to topple regimes, and overthrow governments. Our goal is stability not chaos.
“In our dealings with other countries, we will seek shared interest where-ever possible and pursue a new era of peace, understanding and goodwill.” Donald Trump 12/1/2016
Trump campaigned against the kind of intervention he launched last night, thus betraying his supporters and indeed Trumpism itself.
So when we hit the streets to protest this latest atrocity, expect to stand side-by-side with a few hundred or thousand Trump supporters.
It’s time to build bridges with the truth.
Intervening is a very slippery slope. Can anyone say Vietnam? The Middle East belongs to the Arab League. Where are they in all of this? Wasn’t Iraq lesson enough? U.S. out now! Bernie said the Arabs in the region had to lead their own coalition to settle atrocities in their part of the world.
Now about building bridges, I believe as Bernie, Progressives’ most astute politician, demonstrated infiltrating and taking control of the Democratic party (which he nearly did) is the only viable way of defeating life and planet destroying conservatism. Third parties do not succeed in national elections and rarely in local/state elections. We need to find allies within the Dems. This means you and I have to become ACTIVE in the local Dems. Lancaster Greens have come and gone. Maybe after proportional representation is implemented 3rd parties will have influence but now like the TeaParty did with the GOP we must unite with the the party of Warren,Brown, Whitehouse,Markey, Ellison, Waters, etc. Look for common ground not division and then fight like hell to reclaim democracy. BTW when judging elected dems look at their voting records first and do not take a black or white perspective -” only God knows absolute truth”-Ghandi
As long as the local Dems hold on to the Corporate/Clinton wing of the party, they won’t have my support. In order for a third party to succeed, we must support it. Timothy Runkle, our local Green representative, would disagree that the Greens are nonexistent in PA. However, more people are Independents than either Dem or Repub. It looks like both parties are in a death spin.
